Inspired Summit's AIARE courses are unique in their low-ratio, high-field-time style. Our AIARE 1 courses are designed for the learner who wants to get the most out of their education. We achieve this through having industry-leading AIARE instructors and course leaders in combination with access to two iconic mountain ranges.
To maximize our field time in the Uinta Mountains we use snowmobiles to access the ski touring terrain. This offers incredible opportunities to see more terrain, learn deeper, and get the most out of your learning experience.
Inspired Summit is a proud AIARE provider. AIARE was established in 1998 as a nonprofit to build a research-based avalanche education model, on the belief that education, research and training prevent avalanche injuries and fatalities.
Group courses, open to anyone, are built for people heading into the backcountry who want small classes and a big outdoor classroom. Classroom sessions run at our Park City HQ; field days are out in the remote Uintas, where you'll learn to spot avalanche terrain and read the clues the snow gives you as you move through it.
The yurt-based course is the immersive version: three days and two nights in one of our yurts, with breakfast, dinner and a snowmobile ride in to the yurt included. The Rescue course is a single eight-hour day and is meant to be retaken regularly — the new Pinebrook beacon park is steps from our HQ, so you get far more hands-on practice than in a course that has to build every scenario from scratch.
Come for the course, stay for the community.
