Our new network of yurts allows for multi-day, hut-to-hut adventures with unparalleled access to over 100,000 acres of Utah's Uinta Mountains. It's a haven we've built to access backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the winter, or hiking, mountain biking, fishing, SUP and more in the summer. Founded and managed by Inspired Summit Adventures, guided and self-guided hut-to-hut experiences are available to book now.
Whether you're looking for a single overnight trip or a multi-day journey connecting multiple huts, the Uinta Hut System is your gateway to adventure. Each yurt is thoughtfully positioned to showcase the unique beauty of the Uintas. All of the huts are fully-equipped for guided or self-guided trips year-round. They have sleeping spaces for 10 adults, a wood stove with an oven, a 3-burner propane stove, kitchen utensils and flatware.
Three of the four planned yurts are built and open: Castle Peak (9,800 ft, rebuilt in 2021), Smith & Morehouse (7,600 ft, built 2024) and Little Elk (9,800 ft, built 2026). The final yurt is slated to be built in summer 2027.
Creating Utah's first four-season hut system required more than just dream routes and rugged construction—it required a shared commitment to protecting public lands. The Uinta Hut System exists today thanks to a close, proactive partnership between Inspired Summit Adventures and the U.S. Forest Service.
Operating under Special Use Permits on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, our team works directly with forest managers, wildlife biologists, and backcountry specialists to design a footprint that honors the land. From utilizing Leave No Trace waste management protocols to positioning huts that minimize impact on sensitive ecosystems, every detail of the Uinta Hut System reflects our joint mission: preserving Utah's wild places while opening doors for unforgettable, life-changing human powered exploration.
