Introducing the Smith and Morehouse Yurt, the newest addition to our Western Uinta Hut System! Located near the stunning Smith and Morehouse Reservoir, this yurt brings a whole new level of adventure and relaxation to the heart of the Uintas.
This backcountry yurt is nestled in an area renowned for its natural beauty, offering year-round access to both high-energy activities and peaceful tranquility. The summer months invite paddling across the reservoir, hiking through lush forests, and stargazing around the campfire. The salmon even spawn up the river adjacent to us!

The Smith and Morehouse Yurt is designed for everyone and is ADA compliant for all those who seek adventure with a touch of comfort. Fully equipped with cozy sleeping arrangements, wood-burning stove, and a spacious gathering area, the yurt provides a welcoming retreat after a day in the great outdoors. And just like its sister yurt at Castle Peak, it offers both guided, catered trips and self-guided rentals.

Guided and Catered Yurt Experience
Pack your bags and let our guides take care of the rest. This guided and fully catered yurt experience is all about making the most out of your time in the mountains. Whether looking to enjoy the amazing overland hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, stand up paddle boarding or fishing, our guides have you covered. When the day is done the cozy warmth of the Yurt will be waiting for you. There our guides become your hosts, and serve up delicious backcountry meals, and keep the campfire and your adventurous side stoked!

Self-Guided Yurt Stay
For those with an independent streak and passion for adventure Inspired Summit Adventures offers self-guided yurt stays. You'll have all the amenities of the Yurt at your disposal, but you'll be on your own when it comes to accessing the yurt, cooking, cleaning, keeping the fire stoked, and finding the goods. As part of the self-guided option a mandatory Yurt Orientation is required for all first time renters. If you and your crew want the full experience of hiking into the yurt, Porter services (one truck load per trip) are offered to help move your gear up the hill so you don't have to are also available for a fee.
