Skiing FAQ

What level of skiing/riding ability do I have to be?

Skiers and snowboarders should be an intermediate level of skiing and physical condition to participate in this adventure. Skiers do not need to have any previous backcountry experience. We’ll scale the objectives based on conditions and rider’s ability. This is for people who want to earn their turns and find out what we mean by "best snow on Earth!"

How do I know this experience is for me?

If you’re an individual or group (up to 8 people), who wants a full-on adventure in the backcountry, this adventure is for you. The thrill of riding a snowmobile and skinning uphill excites you. You're ready to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life and explore lesser traveled paths with the assistance of guides who know the best spots and hidden secrets. This is a full day, a full adventure, and an insane amount of fun.

What is the minimum/maximum group size?

Minimum of 1 person;  maximum 8 people.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your touring skis/ splitboard, skins, poles, beacon, probe, shovel, backpack, water and snacks. Rental equipment can be arranged through our partners at White Pine Touring

How many runs do I get and what's the elevation gain?

We guarantee 1-5 depending on physical ability of participants. Typically we get 1,500 ft to 5,000 ft.

Is a lift ticket included in the price for the Lift Accessed Ski Touring?

No, you'll need to buy a lift ticket to Park City or Brighton. Brighton offers a single-use lift ticket that gives us access to a wide variety of terrain.

Does the Backcountry Mentorship Program replace the need to take an avalanche course?

No, the Backcountry Mentorship Program is not intended to be a stand-in for avalanche education rather a way to further your skills or help introduce you to new skills that go beyond the scope of what can be covered in a course. We work alongside avalanche course providers and are happy to help you sign up for a certified avalanche course before or after our time together.

What if we have other questions?

Like we said above, we would love to speak with you to address any questions or concerns.  Please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 435.640.4421 or email info@inspiredsummit.com
