The Western Uinta Hut System is Utah’s first four-season hut-to-hut experience, brought to you by Inspired Summit Adventures – Utah’s premier backcountry mountain guides. This new network of yurts is strategically located in Utah’s rugged and scenic Western Uinta Mountains. We designed the system to provide year-round access to the outdoors, offering an immersive wilderness experience where visitors can unplug, recharge, and explore both winter and summer activities.

Guided and Catered Hut-to-Hut: New starting winter 2024/25, Inspired Summit Adventures is offering hut-to-hut guided and catered ski tours in the Uinta Mountains. This multi-day adventure includes access to the two open yurts in the Western Uinta Hut System. It begins at the Castle Peak Yurt, where skiers can access pristine, crowd-free terrain, including alpine faces, chutes, and glades. Midway through, a porter will transfer gear via snowmobile while participants continue deeper into the mountains to access the Smith and Morehouse Yurt. This unique backcountry experience offers unforgettable skiing, stunning scenery, and the luxury of guided support.
Guided and Catered Single Yurt Experience: Pack your bags and let our guides take care of the rest. This guided and fully catered yurt experience at one of our yurts (Castle Peak or Smith and Morehouse) is all about making the most out of your time in the mountains. Whether gentle glades or bagging alpine peaks is on your bucket list, our guides can lead you there safely. When the day is done, the cozy warmth of the yurt will be waiting for you. There our guides become your hosts, serve up delicious backcountry meals, and keep the wood-burning stove and your powder fever stoked!
 Self-Guided Single Yurt Stay: For those with an independent streak and passion for adventure, Inspired Summit Adventures offers self-guided yurt stays (Castle Peak or Smith and Morehouse). You'll have all the amenities of the yurt at your disposal, but you'll be on your own when it comes to accessing the yurt, cooking, cleaning, keeping the fire stoked, and finding the goods. As part of the self-guided option, a mandatory Yurt Orientation is required for all renters.Â
